Frequently asked questions
A few things people often wonder about before reaching out.
What is therapy, and who is it for?
Therapy is a confidential, collaborative space to understand yourself better and work through what feels difficult: stress, anxiety, low mood, relationships, loss, or simply feeling stuck. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit; therapy is for anyone who wants support in living a fuller life.
What is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication. A psychologist works through talking therapies: structured, evidence-based conversations and skills. Aishwarya is a psychologist, not a psychiatrist; where medication may help, she can suggest consulting a psychiatrist alongside therapy.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know you: what brings you here, your history, and what you'd like to change. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. Together you'll agree on goals and a way of working that fits you.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. What you share stays between you and your therapist, with rare exceptions required by law or safety (such as risk of serious harm); these limits are explained clearly before you begin.
Are sliding-scale slots available?
A limited number of sliding-scale slots are available, subject to availability. Please ask during your free 15-minute consultation call.
How do I book a session?
The easiest way is a free 15-minute consultation call via WhatsApp: tap the WhatsApp button anywhere on this site. You can also write to aishwaryamuralinair@gmail.com or use the contact form.
